# Moneywise.co.ke — Full Site Review & Rebuild Brief

**Prepared:** 10 June 2026
**Sources:** Live crawl of moneywise.co.ke (16 pages + sitemaps + headers), Gemini meeting notes (3 Jun 2026), and the full meeting transcript (read in full, 00:00–01:18).

## 1. Executive Summary

The current moneywise.co.ke is a **Rina-centric brochure site selling three things** (a book, the Investable course, and coaching) — exactly what the 3 June meeting agreed it must stop being. It is built on WordPress + Elementor with a custom theme literally named **"rina"**, which says everything about the brand architecture problem.

Beyond positioning, the site is in poor technical and editorial health: widespread text-encoding corruption (’, Â, 🙂 visible to every visitor), a publicly indexed webinar page containing **lorem ipsum placeholder text**, empty shell pages (Shop, Financial Health Score), duplicate and test pages in the sitemap, a homepage with **no H1**, a stale blog (last post July 2024), stale launch copy ("Launching April 2024"), and a heavy 42-stylesheet/34-script Elementor front end.

**Verdict: the decision to rebuild rather than renovate is correct.** Nothing in the current build (theme, page structure, or content architecture) supports the ecosystem model, the three customer journeys, digitized assessments, or modular e-learning. The content itself (course material, testimonials, blog articles, book copy, debt FAQ) is worth migrating after cleanup; the container is not.

## 2. What's There Today

### 2.1 Tech stack & hosting

| Layer | Current state |
|---|---|
| CMS | WordPress 6.8.5 |
| Theme | Custom theme `rina` |
| Page builder | Elementor 3.34.2 + Elementor Pro + ElementsKit Lite |
| Plugins observed | Yoast SEO, Contact Form 7, ConvertKit, MailPoet, Site Kit by Google, WebinarIgnition, WooCommerce (installed but unused) |
| Hosting | Kinsta, fronted by Cloudflare (decent hosting; bot protection returns 403 to non-browser agents) |
| Analytics | GA4 (G-FHQ8VYQ8X8) via gtag |
| Risky dependencies | lightgallery.js loaded from **cdn.rawgit.com** (a service deprecated since 2019 — could disappear any time), AOS from unpkg, YTPlayer from cdnjs |

### 2.2 Page inventory (from sitemaps + crawl)

- **Live, real pages:** Home, About, Books, Media/Blog, Coaching (×2 versions), Contact, Join Investable, Investable (older version), Investable Masterclass (webinar), debt FAQ landing page, ~15 blog posts (2021–Jul 2024), 2 book pages.
- **Empty shells:** `/shop/` (WooCommerce installed, zero products), `/your-financial-health-score/` (title only, no tool), `/take-your-financial-health-check/` (assessment gone — this is the tool that was lost when the previous provider pulled it).
- **Junk indexed in the sitemap:** `/sample-page/`, `/blank-page/`, `/test-form/`, `/elementor-785/`, `/home/` (duplicate of `/`), `/coaching/` AND `/moneywise-coaching/` (two different coaching pages live simultaneously), `/contacts/` AND `/get-in-touch-with-us/`, plus a trail of thank-you/confirmation pages.
- Cart/checkout/my-account pages exist but lead nowhere (no products).

### 2.3 Current navigation

`Home · About Us · Books · Blog · Coaching · Contact Us` — organized around **what Money-Wise sells**, not around **what the visitor needs** (the meeting explicitly called for the Ramsey-style "what are you looking for?" model: get out of debt / budget / invest / retire, answered above the fold).

## 3. Detailed Findings

### 3.1 Brand & positioning (the core problem)

- The site reads "Hi, I am Rina" — first-person copy throughout ("I'm the founder…", "What's my value to you?", "Work with me!"). The About page is 90% a Rina CV. The meeting was unambiguous: the brand must exist beyond Rina.
- No trace of "Africa's financial confidence ecosystem." Positioning is "financial wellness coach" + book + course.
- The faith-based, values-first, behavioral approach — named in the meeting as the #1 trust-builder USP — appears only as scattered one-liners ("God-given purpose"), never as a framed methodology.
- The "for us, by us" African localization USP is invisible. Copy occasionally references Kenya but the framing borrows heavily from US financial-coaching language (whole FAQ sections are paraphrased Ramsey content, e.g. "kneecap to kneecap").
- Orange is used as the accent/highlight color; the meeting confirmed orange is **not** in the brand book (gold, blue, green, white, black).

### 3.2 Audience segmentation — absent

- No individual / investor-corporate / diaspora pathways. Corporate offering ("Financial Wellness for staff") is one card on the homepage. Diaspora (trust, cross-border investing, wealth preservation, legacy) is mentioned **nowhere** on the entire site.
- One generic funnel for everyone; no "Start your journey" CTAs, no assessment-first entry point.

### 3.3 Tools & assessments — the biggest functional gap

- Zero working interactive tools. The financial health check page is an empty husk (the tool lived on a third-party platform and was pulled — the exact dependency failure the meeting resolved to never repeat).
- Money personality test, values clarification, wealth-management/goal calculator, budgeting tools: none exist on the site even in manual form.
- No user accounts, no dashboard, nothing to capture an assessment result.

### 3.4 E-learning — currently homeless

- Investable was hosted on Africa's Pocket; that contract ended and the course was removed. The site still sells it anyway: "Join Masterclass", "Sign up here", "$280 / 2 installments of $150", "Book Your Slot" — with no functioning delivery platform behind it.
- The webinar page (`/the-investable-masterclass/`) is **live and indexable while unpublished**: it shows "This Webinar Is Unpublished. Publish It To Show", lorem ipsum body text ("It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets…"), and a placeholder testimonial "- Your Name Here". This is the single most damaging page on the site for credibility.
- Contradictory pricing/launch signals: "Launching April 2024" (two years stale), "Launching Soon", "$280", waitlist forms and direct-purchase CTAs coexisting.
- A broken sentence on Join Investable: "We,ve partnered with   to bring you Investable" — the partner name is literally missing.

### 3.5 Content & editorial quality

- **Mojibake everywhere.** Every page shows ’, “, –, Â, …, 🙂, 🚨 where apostrophes, quotes, dashes and emoji should be. This is a database/charset migration error (UTF-8 read as Latin-1) and it's visible on the homepage hero downward. It instantly signals neglect — fatal for a brand selling trust.
- Placeholder artifacts shipped to production: "Designation" labels in testimonial sliders, "- Your Name Here".
- Typos/grammar in high-visibility spots: "GET INVESTMENT ADVISE", "natured" (nurtured), "training , coaching" (stray spaces), "In want to join" (button), inconsistent "Money-Wise / Money Wise / Moneywise / moneywise".
- Blog is stale (newest post July 2024) and thin (~15 posts). Categories exist for Podcast and Videos but the YouTube library (400+ videos, ~15k subscribers, 772k views) is completely absent from the site — no embeds, no feed, just a footer icon link.
- Testimonials are good raw material (real names, specific outcomes) but several repeat verbatim on three different pages.
- The debt FAQ page is genuinely useful content trapped in an unformatted wall-of-text interview dump.

### 3.6 SEO

- Homepage title: **"Welcome to new moneywise - Money Wise"** — no keyword, no value proposition, reads like a default.
- **No H1 on the homepage** (0 h1 tags found).
- Sitemap pollution: test pages, duplicates, thank-you pages, sample-page all indexed; testimonials sitemap untouched since 2021.
- Duplicate-content risk: two coaching pages, two contact pages, `/home/` vs `/`, three Investable pages with overlapping copy.
- Positives to preserve: Yoast is configured, robots.txt is clean, OG image + JSON-LD schema present, Cloudflare/Kinsta serve fast TTFB. The domain has age and some authority — **keep the domain and 301-map old URLs in the rebuild.**

### 3.7 Performance & accessibility

- 42 CSS files + 34 JS files + 7 inline style blocks on the homepage; 128 KB of HTML before a single asset loads. Classic Elementor stack-bloat; mobile LCP will suffer.
- jQuery-era libraries (YTPlayer, lightgallery via rawgit) and AOS loaded globally regardless of need.
- Missing H1 hurts screen readers as well as SEO; icon-font social links ("Facebook-f") suggest unlabeled icon links.
- Phone number appears as both "+254 112 440 122" and "254 112 440 122"; email is Cloudflare-obfuscated (fine) but rendered as "[email protected]" in some non-JS contexts.

### 3.8 Conversion architecture

- No lead magnet flow that works end-to-end: free guide pages exist (`/download-your-free-investment-guide/`, free book chapter) but are orphaned — not linked from the main nav or homepage.
- No assessment-first capture (the meeting's chosen pattern: take assessment → see results → email at the END → dashboard → courses → coaching prompt).
- No payments: WooCommerce is empty, no M-Pesa, no card checkout, course payment presumably handled off-site/manually.
- No community surface, no corporate-booking flow, no speaking-engagement page despite speaking being revenue source #2.

## 4. Gap Analysis — Meeting Decisions vs. Current Site

| Meeting decision / requirement | Current site | Gap |
|---|---|---|
| Money-Wise ecosystem brand, not Rina-centric | Theme named "rina"; first-person copy; About = Rina CV | Total rebuild of brand architecture |
| "Africa's financial confidence ecosystem" within 5 seconds | "Kickstart your journey to financial wellness" generic hero | New hero: "the smarter way to build wealth across Africa" + segment CTAs |
| 3 customer journeys (individuals / investors & corporates / diaspora) | None — single generic funnel | Net-new IA |
| Ramsey-style upfront "what do you need" (debt, budget, invest, retire) | Must scroll; needs are buried in paragraphs | Net-new homepage pattern |
| Digitized money personality test (20Q, results) | Doesn't exist online | Build (pending Rina's copyright check on Olivia Mellon adaptation) |
| Values clarification exercise | Doesn't exist online | Build (pending copyright check) |
| Wealth management / goal calculator (monthly investment per goal, alerts) | Excel-only, offline | Build |
| Financial health check | Empty page — tool lost with former provider | Rebuild as proprietary, on-platform |
| Assessment → dashboard → courses → coaching-prompt loop | No accounts, no dashboard | Net-new platform capability |
| Modular e-learning (standalone lessons/tools, not only the 7-week course) | Course homeless (pulled from Africa's Pocket); site still sells it | Net-new LMS; consider renaming Investable (no trademark held) |
| Own platform, no third-party hosting dependencies | Course was on Africa's Pocket; old tool lost to a vendor; rawgit CDN dependency | Self-host everything proprietary |
| YouTube integrated on-site (owned copyright, 400+ videos) | Footer icon only | Embed feed/show section, modular lessons from videos |
| Elevate learning products; de-emphasize 1:1 coaching | Coaching has 2 pages; learning has none that work | Invert hierarchy; coaching becomes referral/network |
| Surface all ecosystem tools (book, academy, coaching, events/speaking, corporate) | Book + course + coaching only; no events/speaking page | Add speaking/corporate booking |
| Faith-based, values-first methodology as trust USP | Scattered one-liners | Frame explicitly as the Money-Wise method |
| Brand colors gold/blue/green/white/black | Orange accents in use | Apply brand manual (Robinson to share folder) |
| Warm, jargon-free, fun, interactive feel | Text-heavy, corrupted characters, formal blocks | New design language |
| Consolidate digital properties into one platform | Fragmented (site + Africa's Pocket + WebinarIgnition + manual tools) | One platform |
| Phase 2: AI/automation for client comms (80+ WhatsApp threads) | Nothing | Phase 2 scope |

## 5. Recommendations for the Rebuild

### 5.1 Information architecture (proposal)

```
Home (ecosystem hero + "I want to…" quick paths + 3 journey CTAs)
├── Start Your Journey
│   ├── Individuals      → Financial Health Check → results dashboard → recommended path
│   ├── Investors & Corporates → corporate wellness programs, speaking, booking
│   └── Diaspora         → trust/cross-border/legacy content + assessment
├── Learn (Academy)
│   ├── Courses (modular: full program or standalone modules)
│   ├── Tools (budget tool, wealth/goal calculator, downloads)
│   └── Watch (YouTube show embedded on-site)
├── Assessments (money personality · values clarification · financial health · investor profile)
├── Books (Money-Wise + Marriage Built to Last, retailer links + on-site store)
├── About (the Money-Wise story & method — team page, Rina as founder, not the brand)
├── Blog / Insights
└── Contact (support · partnerships · media · speaking requests)
User area: My Dashboard (assessment results, course progress, retakes, coaching prompts)
```

### 5.2 Homepage pattern (per the transcript)

1. Hero: *"The smarter way to build wealth across Africa"* — financial education, investment confidence, corporate financial wellness; three subtle **Start your journey** CTAs.
2. "What do you need help with today?" tile row: Get out of debt · Make a budget · Start investing · Plan retirement · Protect & preserve wealth (each lands on a tool/module/guide, answerable without talking to anyone).
3. Proof band: numbers (people trained, community size, years), media logos (already have NTV, Nation, Capital FM, etc.), testimonials.
4. Embedded YouTube show section ("watch here or on YouTube" — the Ramsey pattern Rina showed in the meeting).
5. The Money-Wise method (values-first, faith-rooted, Africa-localized) — the trust USP, stated explicitly.
6. Lead capture: free assessment or free first module (email collected **after** the assessment, not before — per the Leader Development demo pattern they approved).

### 5.3 Functional scope

**Phase 1 (the 2.5-week, 80% launch):** new brand site on the consolidated IA, all content migrated and cleaned (fix every mojibake character during migration — re-encode, don't copy-paste), 3 journey landing pages, financial health check digitized with results + email capture, YouTube integration, working lead magnets, speaking/corporate booking form, 301 redirect map from every old URL, kill all junk/duplicate pages.

**Phase 1.5–2:** user accounts + dashboard, money personality test and values clarification (after copyright clearance — flag: these block the assessment scope, chase early), wealth/goal calculator with reminders, modular LMS with the Investable content (consider the rename/refresh — no trademark held on "Investable"), payments (M-Pesa **and** card **and** USD pricing — diaspora pays in USD/GBP), then the AI/WhatsApp automation backend.

### 5.4 Content migration checklist

- Re-encode all copy (UTF-8) — the mojibake is systemic, assume every page is affected.
- Rewrite first-person Rina copy to brand voice; keep Rina as founder/face in About and the show.
- Deduplicate the testimonial pool; collect designations (the "Designation" placeholders prove the data was never gathered).
- Keep & reformat: debt FAQ (→ structured guide), blog posts (refresh dates/facts), book pages, course outline, FAQ content.
- Kill: lorem-ipsum webinar page, sample/blank/test pages, duplicate coaching+contact+home pages, empty shop (until products exist).
- Fix: "GET INVESTMENT ADVISE", "We've partnered with [missing name]", stale "Launching April 2024", price inconsistencies.
- Decide one canonical brand spelling (recommend **Money-Wise** for prose, **moneywise.co.ke** for the domain) and enforce it.

### 5.5 Technical guidance

- Whatever stack is chosen, the hard requirements from the meeting are: **fully owned/self-hosted** (no Africa's-Pocket-style dependencies), assessments + dashboards + modular LMS + payments on one platform, fast and mobile-first (most Kenyan traffic is mobile), and maintainable by Pinch Africa long-term. The Leader Development build is the approved reference implementation — reuse its assessment/dashboard/course architecture.
- Keep the domain and its SEO equity; ship a complete 301 map at launch.
- Drop the rawgit.com dependency immediately even on the old site (one-line risk fix while the rebuild happens).
- Keep GA4 + Search Console; baseline current rankings before cutover.

---

## 6. Open Items Blocking Scope (from the meeting, still unresolved)

1. **Copyright clearance** — money personality test (Olivia Mellon adaptation) and values clarification program (Rina checking). Blocks two of the four assessments.
2. **The 20-question assessment + results format** — Rina to share with dev team. Blocks health-check build.
3. **Branding manual + project folder** — Robinson to email. Blocks design language work.
4. **Investable rename decision** — no trademark held; fresh name is an option. Blocks LMS naming/branding.
5. **Coach network model** — Rina prefers referring to partner coaches rather than selling her own time; affects the Coaching section's entire design.
